PEBETSI BIOGRAPHY

Pebetsi is a gospel singer, song writer and social activist. People of Ga- Manyaka village in Limpopo Province knew without any doubt that they had a gem in their midst, she possessed talent and passion strong enough to lift her to the higher levels of music industry. In Primary school, Pebetsi was a known voice that helped to bring the trophies home. She received her first music award at Ratanang High School for the best leading voice, this marked the beginning of a loving relationship with music. She continued singing even after high school, at Tshwane University of Technology she was a member of both the university mass choir and Student Christian Fellowship, Music has always been big part of her life.

In 2006 she released her debut album titled Kabelo yaka(my gift), it's a rare occurrence in this industry to strike it right the first time, her case was different, her first album put her in the gospel map, Kabelo yaka was popular among the gospel fans. She found herself sharing stages with big names of that time, the likes of Sipho Makhabane, the late Deborah Fraser, Kholeka, Dr. Winnie Mashaba and many others.

She released her second offering in 2011. She titled it Reya lwana (We are at war) for both first and second albums, Pebetsi worked with Thula Manqoba as a producer, Manqoba is also a gospel artist. She released it on both CD and DVD. She went as far as launching this work in what she described as a jovial event. It took place at Tshwane town hall in June of 2011. The album enjoyed huge airplay both on different radio and TV stations, her popular tracks were Ngisindile, Mama wami and Living in the light, the album had twelve songs with most of them being her compositions. She attributes her composing skills to her Christian upbringing, she's been in the church all her life, she is inspired by life as it unfolds, the good and bad sides of our every day living is a song or two for her.

Pebetsi is not pressured by a trend of yearly album releases. She has a special way of doing it  " I wait for a message from our Lord God ,what he wants to say to His people that's the only time I will record  and deliver the message" she said. 

In 2017 she released her her third album: Through it all. On this one she notched up the standard by recording it live. It was recorded at Breytenbach Theatre in Pretoria, unlike her first two releases Through it all elevated Pebetsi to new levels of stardom, besides a well organized live band, harmonious voices of her backing vocalists her own performance was amazing, all these resulted in captivating moments of true intimate worship. She tried to accommodate all her fans by singing in different languages. As usual most of the songs were her own compositions 

The album's cross over appeal pulled in new following, people appreciated the touch of Jazz beats and diversity in her voice, this shifted Pebetsi from a Limpopo finest to National superstardom, eventually earning her award nominations. Ingoma Awards nominated her work in three major awards: Best Female  of the year, Best Album of the year  and Song of the year. She was happy that her work and her contribution to the industry is recognized. It's been over five years since she released through it all but it continues to impact people's lives to this day.

The wait was finally over, Pebetsi dropped her new EP titled Omphagamishitse(The lord lifted me up.) during the end of theAugust month. The released songs are Omphagamishitse, Kabeloyaka and KenaleModisha.The album isnow available on all online platforms.This is a studio live recording, recorded at One Big Room Studios in Silverton Pretoria. She worked with, Pholosho Monoge, Prince and Ludwick. Her team really outdone themselves in this EP, there's considerable growth in her worship and rendition.

It became evident that both media houses and her fans been longing to hear from her. Even before the release she gotradio interviews both community and commercial radios, she got also t.v interviews. Everyone wants to be the first to play her new songs on their radios and t.v. Promoters are booking her for their Events, her performance schedule is already looking hectic.She was nominated for three categories for Ingomaawards nominated her work in three major awards: Best Female artist, Best Album of the year  andArtist of the year.

Pebetsiwon the award on the tenth Ingoma awards for best female artist. She has now scooped a Presenting gig at channel 260 on dstvMpumakapat.v, presenting the show called Gospel Super Fest which aired every Sunday at 10:30 repeating on everyFriday at 09:00 in the morning.

Pebetsihas now performed on her homecoming event which took place at her hometown Ga-Manyaka village, she was well received. Pebetsi will be touringall provinces for performances, radio tours and podcasts interviews. To promote and market the new album.
