Cha became the first female chair of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2018. She leads the board in setting its strategic direction.
She is also a member of the Executive Council of the Government of Hong Kong.
Cha is focused on expanding HKEX's product ecosystem as well as its IPO activity. In 2020, she said, the exchange ranked #2 globally for its IPO market.
Earlier in her career, Cha worked for Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission from 1991 to 2000 and became its deputy chairman in 1998.
