Kaylee Hartung knew journalism was for her as a young girl, so she joined the University of Washington and Lee because the program there appealed to her. After graduating in 2007, she began climbing to the top by interning at NBC. Since then, she has worked on top networks, including ESPN and CNN, but Kaylee is a reporter for ABC News. Kaylee is the proud daughter of Joe Hartung and Julie Tucker. Her father, Joe, was a pilot. When Kaylee was ten years old, her father died in a plane crash at an air show in Lafayette. Young Kaylee sees reporters on CNN informing the public of breaking news, and her mind wonders why her father’s death should be treated as an event. Despite the embarrassment, Kaylee knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life telling stories, and in an instant, her career path was determined.
