Gillian Anderson

Gillian Leigh Anderson is an American actress who was born on August 9, 1968.

She began her career in theatre and rose to prominence as Agent Dana Scully on the American television series The X-Files, for which she received critical acclaim. Gillian was nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild award multiple times during the series’ nine seasons. She also appeared in The House of Mirth (2000), The Mighty Celt (2005), The Last King of Scotland (2006), Straightheads (2007), and two episodes of The X-Files: Fight the Future (1998) and The X-Files: I Want to Believe (1998). (2008). As Lady Dedlock in the BBC drama Bleak House, Anderson was nominated for a BAFTA Award, an Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award (2005).
