Anne Wojcicki is the cofounder and CEO of 23andMe, a pioneering direct-to-consumer DNA testing firm based in Sunnyvale, California.
In June 2021, 23andMe went public in a SPAC sponsored by U.K. billionaire Richard Branson's Virgin Group.
A former Wall Street analyst, Wojcicki teamed up with cofounder Linda Avey and Paul Cusenza to start DNA testing company 23andMe in 2006.
23andMe got a $300 million investment from GSK, formerly GlaxoSmithKline, in July 2018. In July 2020, a drug developed with GSK began human trials.
In January 2020, 23andMe licensed an antibody to treat inflammatory drug that it developed to Barcelona-based Almirall.
