Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in 1958 in The USA. She is a director, producer, and activist. She is best known for portraying Tina Turner in the biopic What’s Love Got to Do with It and Rosa Parks in the drama film The Rosa Parks Story. She was one of the 100 most influential Americans in 2001 by TIME magazine. However, in 2008, Bassett received only five Humanities Medals, which the French government gave to prominent writers.
