Maria Quiban was born in 1970 in Cebu City, Philippines. She works for KTTV in Los Angeles, California, as a weather anchor, reporter, and fill-in meteorologist. She is a graduate of the University of the Philippines with degrees in Mass Communication and Broadcast Journalism. She is a skilled meteorologist who many prestigious organizations have recognized for her work.
